How much time is needed to play?

This depends on the size of your group, but we recommend allowing at least an hour. It's all about fun - so you can finish as early as you like!

What is the skill level required?

You don't need to be a pro to play! Barefoot Bowls is designed to be playable by people of all skill levels. (Children must be at least 12 y.o to play).

How many people?

You can play with as little as 2 players, but it's definitely more fun with extras. We can cater for all groups - large and small!

What is Barefoot Bowls?

Barefoot bowls is one of Brisbane’s most popular group activities, combining relaxed competition with a fun social atmosphere. No experience or special equipment is needed. Just kick off your shoes, grab a drink and enjoy a few friendly games on the green with friends, family or colleagues.

How much does it cost?

$10 per person for a 2 hour session (includes the supply of bowls, barefoot bowls coaching and assistance with team organisation) We work on a maximum of 12 players on a lane at any one time. You can package your bowls with a BBQ and bowls is included in the price of the BBQ

Which days can we play?

Wednesday to Sunday (also available Mondays and Tuesdays through December).

Strictly 11am – 1pm, 1-3pm, 3pm – 5pm or 5pm – 7pm.

We now have evening sessions Wednesday – Sunday!

Booking Information & Policies

A few important details to help everyone enjoy a fun, safe and smooth experience at Merthyr Bowls Club.

To help us provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests, please review the following information before booking.

Children under 12 years of age are not permitted to play bowls or enter the bowling greens.

For group bookings larger than 12 people, please contact our team directly at info@merthyrbowlsclub.com.au or call 0439 504 372 and we’ll help arrange your booking.

Please note that 21st birthday events require licensed security at the organiser’s expense. A minimum 4-hour booking applies, with rates of $65 per hour Monday to Friday, $75 per hour on Saturdays and $85 per hour on Sundays.
